J.p. stand for John and Pat the couple that own it and spoonems is just the name they gave it. They still own it and run it since 1982
Excellent brunch. Kid's menu was well received. Arizona Benny was amazing. If you're planning a trip to the zoo, this place is a great option for breakfast/brunch/lunch beforehand...
J. P. Spoonem’s is my to go breakfast spot. The food is always fresh and made to order. No over cooking my food here. My favorite is the peanut butter banana stuffed French toast. I get this majority of the time I visit. I can stay a way from it. So tasty and they make the whipped cream in house which makes it extra special. ❤️. How about them Johnny Cakes! Oh my. I am not from RI but when I ever saw this on the menu I was so curious. So delicious 😋 nothing like I’ve ever tasted. Hot right of the stove. It’s lightly sweet warm cornmeal type of homemade goodness. Only way I could describe it. This is a place everyone should try at least once. This spot has a a lot of regulars including myself.
My husband and l had breakfast. The food was delicious!!! Our hostess was absolutely wonderful!!! Please go when you get a chance. Our daughter is attending school nearby. We can't wait to go back.
Pretty good small breakfast spot with some friendly service. The food was very unique. I had some apple cinnamon pancakes that were to die for. Also the expense wasn't bad at all. You get alot for what you pay for. My only flaw is they only take cash. But they have an ATM with a $2.50 charge. So if you're thinking about coming here make sure you bring cash.
Today we tried J.P. Spoonem's for breakfast. All I can say is that we had one of the best breakfast we've ever had. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. I had the Arizona Benny with a side of corned beef hash. My wife had the Greek Benny. Our waitress was kind and attentive. We sat outside today- there are 4 outdoor seatings and numerous seats inside and a u- shaped counter for those who prefer a true diner experience. Since it was our first time there she welcomed us as if we had been going there for years. We will definitely come back again.
Literally one of the best breakfast places in the state. I try to suggest to anyone with an ear to listen. Inventive specials accompanied by a full menu with tons of options. The arizona Benny is one of my favorites. Black bean hash is to die for!
